The course features self-study, knowledge development in the classroom, skill sessions in the pool and four real open water dives in Beaver Lake. Typically, we spend five nights in the classroom and pool (sessions are about three hours each) and then go to the lake for four open water dives over a weekend. Alternately, we do class and pool one weekend and follow that up with another weekend for the open water dives in the lake. At the end of the training you will receive the PADI Open Water certification and will be a competent and safe, open water diver.

PADI is the largest scuba diver training organization in the world and has certified over 20 million divers globally. With NWA Adventure Dive you will benefit from strict adherence to PADI standards, no more than six students in each class, individual attention, up-to-date equipment, and a commitment to providing the best education and service in the industry; all provided by an instructor with over 40 years of diving experience. You will learn the rules, tips and the tricks the right way in a safe, fun and comfortable environment. Cost: $450

The first step is easy and fun!  You only need a week of night classes and 2 days open water diving. The PADI Open Water Diver Course leads to full certification and is where most people start their diving education. All basic scuba gear is provided including tank, all air fills, BCD (buoyancy control device), SPG (submersible pressure gauge), depth gauge, regulator with alternate air source, dive computer, weights and wet suit. The student must supply their own mask, fins, snorkel and wet suit booties because the fit must be very good.

You will also receive at time of sign-up the PADI Open Water Diver manual, PADI’s Recreational Dive Planner and instructions for use, and a student log book packaged in PADI’s popular “Crew Pack.” By the way, you must be able to surface swim 200 meters without stopping.
