Why A KISS Re-breather?
KISS CCRs are some of the safest rebreathers on the market and are less costly than other designs. They feature industry leading work of breathing in all swimming positions and are smaller and lighter than conventional open circuit SCUBA equipment. KISS CCR have excellent gas efficiency at any depth: minumin run times for the Spirit, Spirit LTE and Sidewinder average 3 and ½ hours at almost any depth without filling gas cylinders or changing CO2 absorbent. KISS CCRs feature an intuitive design and can be completely disassembled by the user – parts are user replaceable. Finally, KISS re-breathers are very tough and have demonstrably few maintenance issues.

Why A Rebreather?
Awww, this is diving as it should be! Closed Circuit Rebreathers (CCRs) recirculate and rejuvenate your breathing gas resulting in much longer total dive times and greater gas supply that conventional open circuit SCUBA. In addition, because you are always breathing the perfect nitrox blend at any depth bottom times are vastly increased, no decompression times are much greater and decompression is shorter. Because rebreathers maximize oxygen and minimize nitrogen in the breathing mix there is reduced narcosis at depth. CCRs have the capability of much greater depth limits than open circuit.
The breathing on a CCR is very natural and the gas is warm and humid unlike open circuit SCUBA where gas is “force fed”, cold and dry. Rebreathes emit very few bubbles and are extremely quite during operation allowing the close approach marine life. In fact, many times marine life will approach you!
Rebreathers are best used on deep dives, long duration dives, tech diving, recreational diving, photography, cave diving, wreck diving, boat diving and multi day resort travel as well as expeditions.
Disadvantages of Close Circuit Rebreathers
All of the advantages of CCRs come with a few draw backs. For any re-breather rigorous training is required and there are longer pre-dive preparations and check lists. There are also more post-dive disassembly, inspections and cleaning. As a diver you must have greater awareness, discipline, respect and care when diving a CCR. You should possess the ability to control 2 different air cells (3 if you use a dry suit) and 2 different gas supplies. There are higher cost of expendables such as sorb and gas when diving a CCR and the initial cost of the equipment is greater than open circuit SCUBA.
